Potamotrygon itaituba (P14)
When breeding P14 stingrays the aim is to breed the "galaxy" variant. This variant comes in two variations, one has a focus on the size of the spots and the other one at the amount of spots. Both varieties are bred and offered by me. The pictures below show the pattern of a few breeding animals, respectively F1 galaxy (many smaller spots), F1 galaxy big spot (bigger spots), F2 royal galaxy (very big spots):
A newborn specimen looks completely different (photo below left). It takes approximately six months before the black and white pattern is visible, after which an offspring P14 (F1) might look like this (photo below right).
Currently there are several young F1½ offspring P14 stingrays for sale. The young rays are eating frozen food and have a disksize of approximately 10 - 12 cm (4 - 5 inch). The parents are specifically selected to produce the best quality offspring. For example, the father of the latest offspring is a F1 big spot and has very good genes.
